Gregory Patterson has more than 13 years of experience in corporate finance, securities valuation and litigation support services. He has performed valuations of smaller privately held companies and larger multinational clients, common and preferred stocks, partnership interests, stock options, warrants and intangible assets, for both privately and publicly held entities. Prior to joining CCG, Mr. Patterson was a manager at RSM McGladrey, Inc., and worked in their business valuation and litigation support group for more than eight years. Previously, Mr. Patterson was a legal assistant within the litigation department of Employers Mutual Insurance Companies, a Des Moines-based multiline insurance company.
Mr. Patterson has extensive experience in helping clients covering a variety of corporate valuation and consulting practice areas, such as business valuations for estate, gift and corporate tax planning and estate tax share valuations; financial modeling and consulting related to corporate planning; business purchase and sale advisement and transaction analysis; valuations of intangible assets and intellectual property; entrepreneurial consulting, including assisting in preparation of business plans; and consulting and valuations in connection with formulating shareholders’ buy/sell agreements and settling shareholder disputes.
Mr. Patterson also works with attorneys and business owners on litigation issues involving company value or other financial aspects. Because of his background as a legal assistant and understanding of the legal process, he is uniquely qualified to assist attorneys in developing their cases for settlement and trial. He has determined damages for stockholder disputes, contract and noncompete cases, wrongful deaths or terminations, and product liability suits.
Greg is an Accredited Senior Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers, certified in Business Valuation, and is currently Vice President of the Iowa Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers and a former President and Treasurer.
